Internet Security Systems Positioned in the Leader Quadrant in Analyst Research Firm’s Network Intrusion Prevention System Magic Quadrant
LONDON — December 7, 2005 — Internet Security Systems (ISS) (NASDAQ: ISSX) today announced that technology research firm, Gartner, Inc., has positioned the company in the leader quadrant of the Magic Quadrant* for Network Intrusion Prevention System Appliances, 2H05. Placement in the leader quadrant is based on the completeness of vision in the intrusion prevention system (IPS) space and the ability to execute on that vision.
The Gartner Magic Quadrant is a graphical portrayal of vendor performance in a market segment, including categories for leaders, challengers, visionaries and niche players. According to Gartner, the network IPS market for stand-alone appliances will increase to more than $400 million by the end of 2005.
