ICSA Labs certifies the protection capability of Panda ExchangeSecure Antivirus
The Panda Software solution for protecting Microsoft Exchange mail servers, Panda ExchangeSecure Antivirus, has recently been certified by the world-renowned ICSA Labs, an independent division of Cybertrust, for its effective detection and prevention of security threats in this type of platform, without returning false positives. Certification achieved by Panda ExchangeSecure Antivirus comes in addition to those obtained by other Panda products, both consumer and corporate.
Before receiving certification, products undergo a series of ICSA Labs tests, including evaluation of the capability of the solution to detect malware -in the normal flow of inbound and outbound mail through the server-, and to neutralize replication and execution of malware. All of these functions, as well as blocking of the distribution of malware must be performed without returning any false positives.
The test also includes an analysis of the capability of the solution’s administrative functions, which should allow virus detection to be enabled and disabled, the signature file to be updated or installed and the log files to be viewed. All of these functions should be accessible from the same interface, facilitating product administration.
Finally, the tests study the generation of log files, which are essential for effective management of this type of solution. Products must be able to clearly log all viruses detected and the action taken, so that they can be studied.
ExchangeSecure meets all these demands thanks to the complete protection provided against all types of malware, such as spyware or phishing, and the straightforward management of the solution through the AdminSecure console, which also provides access to the log files.? These files are also directly accessible by consulting the Event Storage Database, given that the information is stored in open format to allow the data to be processed and consolidated.
“The ICSA Labs certification obtained by our solution for Exchange mail servers is a clear indication of the level of virus protection we provide our clients.” says Paula Quir?s, director of corporate business units at Panda Software. “These types of solutions are essential in companies in which a huge amount of information is transferred via email. The installation of protection in this point is essential to achieving a high level of security on all levels.”
Panda ExchangeSecure Antivirus is the Panda Software solution for protecting Microsoft Exchange Server mail servers, with maximum performance in both independent and cluster installations. ExchangeSecure checks all the email in the company, scans attachments in memory, guarantees compliance with corporate policies by filtering of inappropriate content, detects suspicious files, through heuristic scanning and blocks spam before it reaches recipients.
