Stratecast Partners Grants Senforce “Best in Class’ Award for Constant and Comprehensive Endpoint Security
Draper, Utah August 1, 2005 – Senforce Technologiesâ„? Inc. today announced that industry analyst firm, Stratecast Research, a division of Frost and Sullivan, has presented the company’s Endpoint Security Suite (ESS) with the “Best-in-Class” Award in the category of “Constant and Comprehensive Endpoint Security,” recognizing the dynamic company and leading solution as achieving major milestones in the Endpoint Security Policy Enforcement (ESPE) market.
States the report: For enterprises with on-the-go information professionals, enterprise security concerns are not limited to protecting the network but are also extended outward to the continuous well-being of the active endpoints (desktop computers, laptops, notebooks) and the protection of sensitive information contained within them. Because of end-users’ dependency on their mobile endpoints as their virtual offices, even temporary disruptions can be major productivity hits. Similarly, compromises to sensitive information contained in and passing through these portable virtual offices can be devastating to the enterprise. Ensuring that these devices are always protected from the unexpected and operated in a manner that does not place sensitive information at risk at the same time, while not requiring the end-user to be an endpoint technology or security expert, is a complex undertaking.
“Senforce, above any of the other vendors reviewed, addresses these complexities with its Endpoint Security Suite,” said Michael Suby, program manager for Stratecast’s Communications Service Strategies and Opportunities (CSSO) Analysis Service, which specializes in assessing VPN, security, managed services, and other business communications solutions.
ESPE solutions were analyzed based on their ability to meet three critical enterprise security requirements: (1) protect the network from LAN-originating threats, (2) enable security policy enforcement at all the endpoints, and (3) provide constant and comprehensive endpoint security. Other ESPE solutions assessed in detail as part of this report were Sygate Secure Enterprise, Cisco NAC, Check Point Total Access Protection, Endforce Enterprise, and InfoExpress Gatekeeper.
Suby said: “In addition to the innovative endpoint integrity features we admired in ESS, the company includes three additional pillars of functionality in its Endpoint Security Suite.” These include an advanced firewall, remote access and Wi-Fi connectivity control (controls when, how, and where users can connect to the Internet), and theft protection (prevents intentional and inadvertent transmission of data from occurring).
“Due to Senforce’s intense and comprehensive focus on endpoint security,” the report concludes, “Senforce receives our selection as the best-in-class provider in constant and comprehensive endpoint security.”
Mike Hall, president and CEO, Senforce, commented: “We are honored that ESS has been recognized by Stratecast Partners as the “best-in-class’ enterprise endpoint security solution.” He continued: “As the industry continues to repurpose older technologies to address today’s risks, Senforce is leading the way by solving real problems that are relevant today and will be even more relevant tomorrow. Senforce effectively tackles complex endpoint security challenges through breakthrough innovation and design that simplifies and automates security policy enforcement in a comprehensive solution for wired and wireless computing devices.”
