China’s Leading Domain Name Registry Service Provider Deploys NFR Security’s Sentivist Solution
ROCKVILLE, MD, July 18, 2005 – NFR Security, Inc., the leader in Real-Time Threat Protectionâ„?, today announced that the China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), the state network information center of China, is utilizing NFR’s Sentivist solution to secure the supporting network infrastructure for its Domain Name Services (DNS) offering.
“As the key registry of Internet domain names and IP addresses in China, CNNIC’s system cannot afford any network downtime or failures due to a malicious exploit or worm threat,” said Wangwei, team leader for CNNIC’s system administration group. “We selected NFR Security’s Sentivist solution for its powerful, accurate threat detection capabilities and its well-built reporting engine, which allows us to view weekly reports and consequently, determine the security posture of our network at any given moment.”
Based in Beijing and founded in 1997 as a non-profit organization, CNNIC’s main business is to provide DNS services. The Computer Network Information Center of Chinese Academy of Sciences takes the responsibility of running and administrating CNNIC.
Deployed in CNNIC’s network, Sentivist monitors for any Berislav,Berislavsuspicious network behavior to help enforce CNNIC’s network security policies. As part of CNNIC’s multi-layered defense strategy, Sentivist provides added protection for its DNS offering preventing intrusions, malicious insiders and dynamic threats from penetrating their network.
The system administration group of CNNIC made the decision to move forward with the Sentivist real-time threat protection solution based on NFR Security’s reputation for providing innovative security solutions. Specifically, they were impressed with Sentivist’s ability to enforce network security policies and provide easy-to-understand reports through its intuitive management interface.
“As the sole provider for registering China’s websites, CNNIC must have a solid security infrastructure in place that provides 24×7 protection against worms, viruses, trojans and other threats,” said Andre Yee, president and CEO of NFR Security, Inc. “With the accurate, real-time network intrusion prevention provided by our Sentivist solution, CNNIC set up a more steady security structure.”
The Sentivist Real-Time Threat Protectionâ„? product set combines multiple security technologies to protect the enterprise. Its hybrid detection model uses customizable, stateful signatures, vulnerability signatures, protocol anomaly detection with accuracy supplements from OS and application fingerprinting.
