QualysGuard Wins SC Magazine European Excellence Award for Best Small Business Security Solution
London, UK 6 May, 2005 – Qualysâ„?, Inc., the leading provider of on demand vulnerability management and policy compliance solutions, today announced its QualysGuard Express service has won the SC Magazine European Excellence Award for Best Small Business Security Solution. The award was announced last week at the SC Awards Gala Dinner in London. QualysGuard Enterprise also joined Microsoft and RSA among others as a finalist for Best Enterprise Security Solution.
More importantly, several Qualys customers were recognised for their visionary security work and valuable contributions to the industry. Qualys congratulates ICI CSO Paul Simmonds on his selection as CSO of the Year Europe; The Royal Mail for its selection as Best Security Team; and Standard Chartered Bank for its well-deserved Best Security Implementation award.
The SC Magazine European Excellence Awards have been established this year to recognise the best products and best people in the European security industry. They are voted on by a panel of experts consisting of 40 senior-level security directors throughout Europe. The European programme received over 100 product nominations from more than 300 companies across more than 14 security-related categories. These awards follow on from the SC Magazine global awards that took place at the RSA show in February where QualysGuard was voted Best Network Security Solution as a result of votes received by more than 50,000 SC Magazine readers around the world.
“We are honoured to receive this award but even more excited to see our customers recognised for their industry-leading security work,” said Philippe Courtot, Chairman & CEO of Qualys. “As on demand vulnerability management becomes a key business enabler and a critical component that allows us to “operationalise” network security and compliance, companies and institutions of all sizes across Europe are implementing QualysGuard. These awards underscore the growing importance of vulnerability management to European business and to our leading position in the market.”
“This is the ninth year of the SC Magazine awards. Each year the standard of entries gets higher, and the judging more rigorous. Any winner of an SC Award can be rightly proud,” said Ron Condon, global Editor-in-Chief for SC Magazine.
