Lucid Security Expands Sales Force For Increased Market Penetration
PHILADELPHIA, Jan. 10, 2005 Lucid Security, creator of ipAngel, the world’s only adaptive, intelligent, intrusion prevention solution, today announced a significant sales force expansion, naming David Scott senior vice president, sales and marketing, Dennis Duym northeast regional channel manager, Mark Fox southeast regional channel manager, and Robert Sim Asia/Pacific Rim market manager. The expansion comes as market demand for Lucid’s industry-acclaimed ipAngel appliance-based intrusion prevention solution is on the rise.

Bringing more than 20 years of sales management experience to Lucid, Scott most recently served as vice president of sales for Websolve Corporation, a developer of web application and VOIP performance reporting and troubleshooting tools. Prior to Websolve, Scott spent seven years as vice president of enterprise sales for Visual Networks (NASDAQ:VNWK), a Maryland-based provider of WAN performance management solutions, where he grew revenues from $600,000 to $60 million leading to a successful IPO in 1998. Scott also held sales management positions for Make Systems, General DataComm (NYSE:GDC) and NCR Corporation (NYSE:NCR).
Duym, who will be responsible for forming strategic channel alliances in the northeast United States, brings to Lucid more than 20 years of experience in the telecommunications and network integration and support industry. Duym joins Lucid from e-Convergence Solutions where he served as director of reseller relations. Prior to e-Convergence, Duym held northeast area business manager responsibilities for Sprint Communications’ Global Markets Group. He also served for seven years as a director for the Enterprise Solutions Group at Verizon Communications and it predecessor, Bell Atlantic Network Integration, focused on Program Management, Field Marketing and Channel Management initiatives. Duym received four Bell Atlantic awards for outstanding sales and individual performance.
Similarly, Fox assumes responsibility for growing strategic channel alliances in the southeast United States, helping to drive sales opportunities through VAR, OEM and direct sales opportunities. Fox brings more than 13 years of sales experience to Lucid, having most recently spent nine years with Enterasys Networks/Cabletron Systems. At Enterasys, Fox held North American business development responsibilities for the company’s Professional Security Services division, where he sold secure data infrastructures via a two-tiered channel sales model, growing sales in two years from $4 million to nearly $10 million.
Sim, a Certified Information Security System Professional and information security business development veteran, joins Lucid as Asia/Pacific Rim market manager. Sim is responsible for Lucid’s entry into the Asia/Pacific market, with the primary responsibility to drive sales through reseller alliances. He is based in Singapore. Prior to Lucid, Sim served three years in a similar capacity for Cyberguard. Sim also held sales, marketing and business development positions with JR International, Pvt. Ltd., and has served as the manager of information systems for both Cahners Pvt. Ltd. and the National Kidney Foundation, all based in Singapore.
