Forum Systems Announces Integration With IBM Tivoli Access Manager Software To Simplify SOA Security

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – December 13, 2004 – Forum Systems, a leading provider of trust management, threat protection and information assurance Web services security solutions today announced that it has completed integration of Forum XWall Web Services Firewall and Forum Sentry Web Services Security Gateway with IBM Tivoli Access Manager. The technology integration has been validated by IBM under the Ready for Tivoli software program. IBM Tivoli Access Manager provides policy-driven security and access management for Fortune 1000 and government customers deploying service-oriented architectures (SOA’s). With this integration, customers can extend their identity management infrastructure to secure machine-to-machine and application interactions using XML and Web services.

By integrating with IBM Tivoli Access Manager, Forum Systems unique approach to managing, accelerating and enforcing Web services security is now able to leverage centrally managed identities and access control rules to ensure policy consistency for XML-based transactions and communications. Forum XWall Web Services Firewall and Forum Sentry Web Services Security Gateway are able to delegate to IBM Tivoli Access Manager security policy decisions for SOA such as “is this machine/application allowed access to this set of Web services” or “does this machine/application have valid credentials.”
