Astaro Announces Security Reporting Tool to Strengthen Management of Astaro Security Linux
BURLINGTON, Mass. ” October 4, 2004 ” Astaro (www.astaro.com), developer of the most popular open source-based network security product, today announced Astaro Report Manager, a security data collection and reporting tool that helps system administrators respond rapidly to attacks, measure network and threat activity, tune defenses, and produce detailed reports for management and auditing purposes.
Astaro Report Manager captures complete log data about network and web usage, attacks, intrusions and viruses from Astaro Security Linux and other network security products. It produces a wide variety of tables, charts and graphs. Administrators can view the status of networking activity “at-a-glance” from a dashboard, track security threats and network trends with hundreds of standard reports, and drill down on key data by creating custom reports. Data can be viewed, printed and emailed in a variety of formats, including HTML, Microsoft Word and Excel, and pdf.
Astaro Report Manager is based on technology from eIQnetworks, Inc., a leading provider of award-winning security, applications and systems analytics solutions.
Enhanced Management for Astaro Security Linux
“Astaro Security Linux already offers the most comprehensive integrated perimeter security solution on the market,” said Jan Hichert, CEO of Astaro. “With Astaro Report Manager, we allow IT managers to improve the management of their security infrastructure. This technology gives them the detailed data and the tools to react quickly to changing events, and to plan based on an accurate picture of security threats and trends over time. Also, our solutions partners can use Astaro Report Manager to provide better service to their customers while reducing their own management costs.”
“This is the second major addition to Astaro”s line of management products,” continued Mr. Hichert. “Astaro Configuration Manager, introduced in 2003, allows administrators to define and distribute security policies quickly and accurately to multiple Astaro Security Linux installations. Astaro Security Linux is already extremely easy to deploy and manage. We intend to strengthen our lead in this area by enhancing and expanding our line of related management products.”
Pricing and Availability
Astaro Report Manager will be available for $495 for Astaro Security Linux sites with up to 100 users, and for $795 for sites with more than 100 users. The software can also collect and report on data from a wide variety of other vendor firewalls and security devices, including those from Cisco, Check Point, Fortinet, McAfee, Nokia, Juniper Networks/NetScreen, SonicWALL, Symantec, and WatchGuard.
