Aventail Launches Two-Tier Distribution Strategy in North America Through Arrow Electronics

Seattle, WA and Englewood, CO – September 27, 2004 – Aventail Corporation, the leading SSL VPN product company, has signed a distribution agreement for North America with the MOCA Division of Arrow Electronics, Inc. (NYSE: ARW), a leading enterprise computing distributor. With this agreement, Arrow will be a premier distributor of Aventail’s award-winning family of SSL VPN appliances – a full-featured, clientless solution that provides secure, anywhere access to a wide range of applications.

This agreement marks Aventail’s first two-tier distribution channel in North America, adding to its distributor base in Europe and Asia and rapidly growing channel presence worldwide. Aventail currently sells its SSL VPN appliances through more than 200 security integrators in North America and around the globe.

For Arrow’s MOCA Division, the Aventail relationship enhances the company’s focus on the enterprise security market.

“According to industry analysts, the SSL VPN market is expected to catapult to $570 million in 2006,” said Sarah Daniels, vice president of product management and marketing, Aventail. “Our SSL VPN market leadership combined with the MOCA Division’s exceptional track record as a value-added distributor in developing and managing channels is a winning combination for the channel. Together, we will help our partners win a significant portion of the lucrative SSL VPN market.”

Per the agreement, Aventail and Arrow’s MOCA Division will support select VARs with business development activities such as training, certification, customized marketing campaigns, and demand generation activities, and quoting assistance.

“We are extremely pleased to offer Aventail’s line of industry leading security products to our Sun Microsystems partner community and to be able to help Aventail’s existing channel partners augment their security practice,” said Kevin Powell, vice president, Enterprise Software, Arrow Electronics. “Aventail is the leading innovator in the SSL VPN segment with tremendous acceptance at the end user level, and our partners will be very enthusiastic about the opportunity to represent this industry leader.”

Aventail’s focus with Arrow’s MOCA Division will be to create relationships with key-value added resellers in strategic markets and establish relationships with their best-of-breed, network and security integrators who sell total solutions and provide technical services. Network and security integrators interested in adding the SSL VPN appliances to their product portfolios should contact Arrow’s MOCA Division at (800) 786-3425 or Aventail at (888) 283-6824 or info@aventail.com.
