CREDANT Technologies Inks OEM and Reseller Agreements with Extended Systems
Dallas, TX – (August 3, 2004) – CREDANT Technologies (www.credant.com), the market leader in providing software that enables organizations to control security enterprise-wide for mobile workers, today announced that it has signed an OEM and reseller agreement with Extended Systems (Nasdaq: XTND), a leading provider of mobile application solutions for the enterprise. Under the agreements, Extended Systems will distribute, worldwide, CREDANT’s industry-leading mobile security and management software, CREDANT Mobile Guardian Enterprise and Group Editions. The two companies have undertaken joint development efforts to integrate CREDANT Mobile Guardian Group Edition with the OneBridge Mobile Solutions platform – providing customers with added security while eliminating interoperability concerns. The combined solution provides the most comprehensive mobile application and security solution on the market today.
Increasingly, IT managers involved in rollouts of mobile applications and devices are concerned about protecting corporate data residing on handheld devices. Mobile application providers are responding to this critical need by building security into their existing products or partnering with a mobile security vendor.
Through their relationship with CREDANT Technologies, Extended Systems provides best-of-breed security that is tightly integrated with its OneBridge Mobile Solutions management console, allowing IT managers to centrally manage security policies across a broad spectrum of handhelds, converged devices and smartphones, while enforcing compliance through on-device access and application controls, encryption and authentication capabilities.
The partnership between the companies resulted in an industry first: The ability to receive push email and other data even while the device is locked, ensuring that users continue to benefit from mobility while protecting data stored on mobile devices.
“Security is a critical component of an organization’s mobile infrastructure. However, enterprise users have adopted mobile computing faster than IT departments can react. From the beginning, CREDANT Technologies has architected interoperability into its products to accommodate the dynamics of technology convergence – allowing mobile solutions vendors to easily integrate robust security without having to commit the time and dollars of building it themselves,” said Bob Heard, president and CEO, CREDANT Technologies. “As the leader in mobile security software for the enterprise, we will continue to move the market forward by developing partnerships with mobile solutions vendors like Extended Systems.”
