(ISC)2 Press Announces Inaugural Issue of Information Systems Security, The (ISC)2 Journal
VIENNA, Virginia March 16, 2004 The International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium (ISC)2®, a non-profit international leader in training, qualifying and certifying information security professionals worldwide, today announced the inaugural publication of Information Systems Security, The (ISC)2 Journal from (ISC)2 Press.
Dr. Corey Schou, CISSP®, director of the National Information Assurance Training and Education Center (NIATEC) at Idaho State University, is editor-in-chief of the bi-monthly publication, which contains peer-reviewed articles, white papers and case studies from (ISC)2’s information security professional constituents from around the world offering in-depth analysis of information security trends and issues.
“I am very honored to be part of this important outreach initiative to expand the range of services that we offer our constituents,” said Dr. Schou. “Publication of the (ISC)2 Journal offers information security professionals a global perspective on industry best practices, as well as opportunities to expand their peer networks, receive professional recognition and engage with experts from around the world.
“We believe the Journal will be an important resource for professionals at all levels within the information security industry, as well as for college and university students planning to enter the field,” Dr. Schou said.
Lee Imrey, CISSP, has been named managing editor of the Journal. Imrey is the senior communications manager for (ISC)2, editor of the (ISC)2 Newsletter, and also lead instructor for (ISC)2’s CBK® review seminar, which he has taught internationally for both the public and private sectors.
(ISC)2 Press, launched in December 2003, is the publishing arm of (ISC)2. Constituents may subscribe to the Journal for a yearly fee of $45 and non-constituents may subscribe for a yearly fee of $175 through the (ISC)2 Web site at www.isc2.org/journal/subscriptions.html.
Individuals interested in submitting articles, case studies or white papers for publication in the Journal can review the Writer’s Guidelines and selection process at www.isc2.org/journal/submissions.html. All submissions will be vetted by the (ISC)2 Journal Review Board.
