Captus Networks Announces Release 1.3 for Captus IPS 4000 Series
WOODLAND, Calif. – November 18, 2003 – Captus Networks today announced Release 1.3 of the Captus IPS 4100 and 4150. The new release features performance enhancements of ten to 40 percent, based on packet size and policy volume variables. With this release, Captus furthers the goal of its customers to guarantee predictable throughput under a broad range of threats.
According to OMNI Consulting Group, there has been a 41.6% rise in network disruptions since 2000, making it difficult for IT to balance security with network availability for access to key applications.
“We are constantly testing and enhancing product performance for our enterprise and service provider customers, who want their network to behave the same way every time under both attack and non-attack scenarios,” said Jack Quinnell, vice president of product management for Captus Networks.
The Captus IPS 4000 series is an inline, policy-based solution for automatically securing and managing mission-critical IP networks. Using Captus Networks patent-pending network management technology, the Captus IPS 4000 series delivers precise continuous control over networks by enforcing highly detailed policies on inbound and outbound traffic. The Captus IPS 4000 series prevents network attacks including DDoS attacks, port scans, and exploits from unknown worms as well as unsanctioned traffic, such as file-swapping. At the same time, it optimizes the performance and management of valid traffic, including surges in customer traffic.
Upgrades to R1.3 are available at no charge for premium support customers. The Captus IPS 4100 and 4150 are priced beginning at $11,995 and are available immediately. For more information or to download the product data sheet please visit http://www.captusnetworks.com/products/ips_4000.html
