Blue Coat Strengthens Executive Team With Three New Appointments

(Nasdaq: BCSI) today announced three new appointments in an expansion of its existing senior management team. The new team will strengthen key areas of the business by ensuring continued development of leading products, driving revenue growth and related programs, and furthering cost efficiencies and business processes.
Dave de Simone — Sr. VP of Engineering
Dave de Simone will serve as senior vice president of engineering. He comes to Blue Coat with more than 25 years of engineering, operations, and business development experience in computer systems, software, and storage networking industries. Prior to joining Blue Coat, de Simone served as an engineering executive at Brocade Communications, Compaq/Tandem and Apple Computer.
Steve Mullaney — VP of Worldwide Marketing
Steve Mullaney will serve as vice president of worldwide marketing. He brings more than 18 years of marketing expertise to Blue Coat, with proven success as an executive at Force10 Networks, Cisco Systems, Growth Networks, and SynOptics/Bay Networks. During his tenure at SynOptics/Bay Networks, Mullaney held worldwide responsibilities for industry solutions and product marketing that led to the generation of more than $2 billion in annual revenue.
Dave Cox — VP of Operations
Dave Cox will serve as vice president of operations. He has more than 15 years of operations management experience in the networking and information technology industry. Prior to Blue Coat, Cox served as vice president of operations for RouteScience and Pluris, and as a manufacturing consultant for Hammerhead Systems. He also comes to Blue Coat with extensive manufacturing management experience from Cisco Systems.
