Panda Software: Fifth Strongest Growth in Europe
MADRID, September 15, 2003 Panda Software has been ranked the fifth fastest growing company in Europe over the last five years, according to the Lexmark Fast 50 ranking of companies from all sectors drawn up by Europe Unlimited. “With millions of companies to compete with, just staying in the market is an achievement, but to be in the top five in terms of growth is an outstanding testimony to the strength of our company,” explains Ainhoa Aguirre, Panda Software’s general manager.
According to the Lexmark Fast 50 survey, over the last five years Panda Software has grown by over 1,200 percent, all the more remarkable bearing in mind the general slump recently affecting the technology sector over this period.
Panda Software has also been recognized by Byte magazine as the most promising company of 2003. This award comes in addition to the numerous quality certifications and widespread acclaim that Panda products have received from major industry organizations. These include Secure Computing’s “Best Antivirus product” awarded to Panda Antivirus Platinum 7.0, after a poll of the British magazine’s readers. “The wide acclaim that has greeted our products encourages us even more to continue investing in new initiatives to revolutionize the market and reach our goal of ridding our client’s computers of viruses,” says Aguirre.
Innovative technology
Panda Software, now one of the world’s leading antivirus producers, has redefined its business model to be more flexible in the face of market demands and provide for the specific needs of a wider client base. “Our strategic plan for the coming years centers on the development of new protection technologies going beyond the scope of computer viruses” explains Jose Maria Hernandez, VP International Expansion at Panda Software. “We will be opening out to offer effective protection against all malware threats, that is, any program, document or message liable to harm users of IT systems, such as spam, spyware or hacker attacks.”
This fall will see Panda Software launch a new family of products aimed at satisfying the protection needs of even the most demanding users and companies regardless of size or business sector. This family includes Panda Antivirus GateDefender -now available for corporate environments- which has two models -7100 (uni-processor) and 7200 (bi-processor)- and integrates advanced software with state-of-the art hardware to provide gateway level, network perimeter protection against all types of viruses. The company also provides BusinesSecure Antivirus for small to medium businesses and EnterpriSecure Antivirus, for protecting even the largest corporations against the menace of computer viruses.
For small businesses and professionals, Panda Software is launching the new Platinum Internet Security including the most advanced pro-active protection technologies against Internet threats. New launches also include Titanium Antivirus 2004, an ‘install and forget’ solution aimed at those without extensive IT knowledge. This new version of the hugely successful Panda Antivirus Titanium combines simplicity with powerful malware detection capacity.
