SSH Licenses VPN Hardware Technology to Mitsumi Electric
Mitsumi manufactured VPN gateway product to be released in September
HELSINKI, FINLAND; PALO ALTO, Calif. and TOKYO – August 26, 2003 – SSH Communications Security (HEX:SSH1V), a world-leading developer of managed security middleware, today announced that they have licensed SSH’s IPSec and PKI technology to Mitsumi Electric Co., Ltd. headquartered in Tokyo, Japan. Based on SSH’s IPSec and PKI related technologies, Mitsumi Electric will manufacture VPN (Virtual Private Network) gateways that will be available this September in the Asia Pacific region.
Features in Mitsumi Electric’s VPN gateway products will have turnkey features using PKI technology, resolving central management issues, and offering service providers and enterprises a truly scalable, manageable and easily deployable VPN solution.
Mitsumi Electric’s VPN gateway will allow customers to setup or add new VPN gateway devices quickly and easily with pre-configured smartcards. The central manager will allow IT staff to manage and monitor the network from a central location, easing deployment burdens.

Also, using IP-VPNs required having special technical skills for deployment and management.
Mitsumi Electric’s VPN gateway will solve these issues for service providers and enterprises by creating a truly scalable, manageable and easy to deploy VPN solution for secure site-to-site and remote access connectivity. Mitsumi Electric’s VPN gateway allows data to be transmitted over inexpensive broadband lines such as ADSL or FTTH. Mitsumi Electric’s VPN can be used in large networks and also within SOHO environments.
