New version of SafeGuard Advanced Security enhances security in Terminal Server and Citrix environments
Oberursel, May 26, 2003 – The new version 4.1 of Utimaco Safeware´s SafeGuard Advanced Security enables a comprehensive protection in Terminal Server and Citrix MetaFrame systems by a secure authentication and realization of the security guidelines for all clients and servers. The solution equally can be used in mixed environments of thin and thick clients and also on PCs and notebooks and thus offers complete protection in heterogeneous IT systems.
SafeGuard Advanced Security extends the security functions of the operating system and of server-based computing environments by the basic components authentication and integrity protection. Both components each are divided into three modules.
For a secured authentication, the basic module for the two-factor-logon via Smartcard and PIN/finger print is available. Besides, there is the authentication extension module for the strong mutual authentication between workstations and servers and an automatic password administration over the Single Sign On module which can be administrated in a simple way by the wizard and also enables a simple and fast logon to web applications.
The realization of the security guidelines of an organization is guaranteed by a three-dimensional definition of rights for users, applications and data by the Application Specific Access Rights Module. The security system for the integrity protection is completed by the IP Filter Module and the Removable Media Management Module. This enables a secure and flexible administration of removable media which is particularly important when using thick clients or mobile notebooks. The complete administration of SafeGuard Advanced Security is done by Microsoft Active Directory or System Policies.
