Trend Micro “Suite-ins” Antivirus Offer to Small and Medium Businesses

Trend Micro Unleashes Small-Medium Business (SMB) Suite Offering, Programs, and Promotions Through Distribution Channels; Trend Micro All-in-one Antivirus Suite now Offers SMB the Benefits of Enterprise Protection Strategy

Cupertino, CA – May 12, 2003 – Trend Micro Inc (TSE: 4704; Nasdaq: TMIC), a leader in network antivirus and Internet content security software and services, is putting its antivirus security suites on a 20%-off sale to small-medium businesses (SMB) of 1000 users or less, through June 30, 2003. The temporary price drops apply to a “beefed up” NeaTSuite, as well as the recently introduced Client/Server and Client/Server/Messaging suites. They are accompanied by the launch of a new “Trend Micro Associate Partner Program” especially designed for the more than 1000 small-medium business resellers in the U.S. and Canada who currently buy Trend Micro antivirus solutions through distribution channels.

Expanded Trend Micro NeaTSuite
NeaTSuite(tm) supports the Trend Micro EPS by gathering and centrally managing antivirus products at various computing layers in the business, overlaid with automated virus outbreak protection and damage cleanup services, to achieve the highest levels of security for businesses of all sizes, especially those with limited IT resources.

Trend Micro NeaTSuite is offered in two versions, each of which normally contain desktop, file server, and gateway protection for Microsoft(tm) platforms. They also include email protection for either Microsoft Exchange or Lotus(tm) Notes and Domino depending on the NeaTSuite version purchased. Now, through a special time-limited offer, each NeaTSuite offering will be expanded to include Trend Micro InterScan(tm) Messaging Security Suite for securing email even before it reaches email servers, regardless of the email server in use. InterScan(tm) Messaging Security Suite also provides advanced email management capabilities as well as industry-leading content filtering to block or manage email based on subject heading, content, or even attachments. NeaTSuite now includes file server virus security for NetWare and Red Hat(tm) Linux platforms popular in small-medium businesses. And Trend Micro Control Manager(tm) provides a single, centralized console for managing all of these systems easily, as well as automating management functions.

Trend Micro’s Client/Server Suite combines Trend Micro OfficeScan(tm) Corporate Edition and ServerProtect(tm) for Windows for a multi-layered defense against malicious code, and is capable of supporting Outbreak Prevention and Damage Cleanup Services. Trend Micro’s Client/Server/Messaging Suite gives complete desktop, server and email protection with support for the same EPS services, by combining OfficeScan Corporate Edition, ServerProtect for Windows, and ScanMail(tm) for Microsoft Exchange.

SMB Suites Promotion Availability and Pricing
The promotion starts immediately. The versions of NeaTSuite will be sold to all U.S. and Canadian customers until June 30, however, the 20% discount will apply only to customers of 1000 seats or less sold through distribution resellers. For example, NeaTSuite at 250 seats with a regular suggested retail price of $15,355, is now priced at $12,284, over $3,000 in savings. The suggested retail prices for Client/Server Suite and Client/Server/Messaging Suite also will be reduced by 20% for seat counts up to 1000 users through June 30. The “beefed up” NeaTSuite, with the additional components included, will be sold at quantities above 1000 seats at the regular NeaTSuite pricing.

Trend Micro Associate Program

Trend Micro’s Associate Partner Program provides SMB solution providers with information, training and tools via Trend Micro Partner Web, and regular newsletters and email notifications. In addition, a new Associate Partner Plus Program enables SMB solution providers who contractually commit to a certain level of annual sales with additional discounts through Ingram Micro and Tech Data, in addition to other program benefits.
