Damovo Becomes NetScreen Authorised Support Centre
International Managed Security Service Launched Using Award-Winning Security Solutions
London, U.K., 22 January 2003 – Global services company Damovo today announced it has gained accreditation as one of NetScreen Technologies’ first NetScreen Authorised Support Centres (N.A.S.C.) in Europe. In tandem with this accreditation, Damovo has launched a managed security service based upon NetScreen appliances. NetScreen is a leading developer of integrated network security solutions that provide key technologies, such as virtual private network (VPN), denial of service protection, firewall and intrusion prevention, in a line of easy-to-manage appliances and systems.
Damovo is at the forefront of IP telephony and managed services provision, and will now use NetScreen’s award-winning technology to protect clients’ business systems from unauthorised access and attacks.
Pearse Flynn, CEO of Damovo said, “IT security is an issue at the top of the agenda for many organisations. Attempted security breaches continue to rise as the Internet grows. Such breaches overload IT departments leading to significant financial losses, and reduced productivity.”
Flynn continues; “NetScreen is a leading player in the hardware-based firewall and IP VPN market, with an extensive product range catering to all sizes of organisations with teleworkers and remote offices to large enterprise and service provider networks. NetScreen’s product range is the ideal technology for organisations concerned with reliable, high-performance and scalable IT security, hence Damovo has incorporated NetScreen’s range into its portfolio.”
The NetScreen accreditation is the latest of a number of relationships that Damovo has formed with suppliers of business communication technologies. Damovo’s portfolio incorporates solutions from companies including Megabeam, Vodafone and Telia IC. This portfolio has been developed in order to ensure that Damovo’s customers have access to the advanced technology they need to conduct their businesses efficiently.
Gareth Green, managing director of the EMEA region for NetScreen, said; “Damovo’s established pedigree as an international market leader in the integration of advanced business communication technologies, coupled with its N.A.S.C. status, offers a compelling proposition to companies looking for a best-of-breed managed security solution. Damovo provides efficient, effective and secure communication solutions to its clients, whilst reducing the time they need to invest in co-ordinating a number of suppliers.”
To become an accredited N.A.S.C., integrators such as Damovo must be able to offer full support services to end users, 24×7. These services include software maintenance and on- site engineer visits to the customer; eligible companies must also have at least two engineers trained and qualified as NetScreen Certified Professionals.
As an N.A.S.C, Damovo works closely with NetScreen’s localised technical assistance centre (T.A.C.) to ensure that end users have easy and flexible access to comprehensive product-support services throughout the EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) region, including access to NetScreen’s infrastructure support partners, IBM and UPS.
