Qualys CTO Receives Industry Recognition
InfoWorld Media Group will present in December 9th issue of InfoWorld Magazine, in-depth profiles of 25 Chief Technical Officers that are voted in this year’s “25 Most Influential CTOs” group. One of the “chosen ones” is Gerhard Eschelbeck, CTO and VP of Engineering, Qualys, Inc.
Mr. Eschelbeck is an internationally recognized security and distributed systems expert that was selected for his significant contributions to the Internet security industry, most notably in automation of security applications. He introduced automation to the antivirus industry while working in McAfee and Network Associates, and recently had his hands in automating the process of vulnerability assessment at Qualys.
His latest technology innovation, the design and implementation of the QualysGuard platform, leverages a foundation of automation to solve the biggest challenges in the vulnerability assessment category: immediate and up-to-date knowledge of vulnerabilities, high scalability of scanning and complete accuracy and reliability of network security audits.
While we were attending RSA Conference 2002, that was held this October in Paris, I had an opportunity to talk with Mr. Eschelbeck about his work, so the interview will be reprinted on Help Net Security later this month.
As a side note, Qualys is offering a free guide entitled “Strengthening Network Security With Vulnerability Assessment“, which can be downloaded from their web site.
