This new release of Antigen brings market leading anti-virus and security technology to deployments of the new Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server.
Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server helps organize, manage, search, and share information content throughout an organization by integrating document management and search functions into everyday tools used in organizations, including Microsoft Windows Explorer, Microsoft Office applications, and Web browsers.
“Antigen’s anti-virus protection for SharePoint Portal Server provides a valuable solution for our mutual customers” stated Gytis Barzdukas, group product manager of the Portal Business Group at Microsoft. “Sybari’s proven technology has consistently and effectively protected Exchange servers and we’re confident that this new version of Antigen will deliver the same high level of security for our SharePoint Portal Server customers.”
Antigen 1.0 for SharePoint Portal Server is based on the same award-winning technology utilized in Antigen for Exchange and delivers many of the same advanced features and functionality.
Features of Antigen 1.0 for SharePoint PORTAL SERVER
Virus Scanning
Sybari designed Antigen 1.0 specifically for the Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server, providing real-time write and manual scanning of documents as they are “checked into” the document store.
Multiple Virus Scan Engine Support
Antigen 1.0 delivers multiple virus scan engine support from leading scan engine technologies. The Multiple Scan Engine Manager is available for all Antigen scan jobs and allows administrators to customize and configure a variety of settings and options at each level. Multiple scan engines reduce that chance that your signature files will be “out of date” and helps maintain server uptime.
Centralized Management
With Antigen 1.0, administrators can easily customize the defaults for scan jobs and establish custom Job Templates and File Filter Sets. The Antigen Configuration Manager assists in the deployment and loading of named templates by allowing customized configurations to be included when the product is distributed throughout an organization with multiple SharePoint Portal servers.
Content Management
Antigen 1.0 also includes proven content management capability: Antigen File Filtering(TM) (AFF). AFF enables administrators to proactively filter documents based on several filters including filename, wildcards, and by file type.
Notification
Antigen 1.0 posts all events to the NT Event Log, as well as the Antigen PROGRAMLOG.TXT file, in addition to notifying administrators via e-mail of the event. Antigen 1.0 will also provide a real-time mechanism to notify the “sender” of the document if it contains a virus or meets a filter rule.
