Inet Introduces SmartAlerts to Streamline Network Security and Service Delivery
RICHARDSON, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Aug. 28, 2001–
Rules-Based Alarming Reduces Time
and Resources Needed to Address Network Security,
QoS and Interconnection Issues
Inet Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:INTI), a leading global provider of communications software solutions for next-generation networks, today announced the introduction of SmartAlerts(TM), a new advanced application of the company’s GeoProbe(TM) and GeoProbe Mobile(TM) solutions.
The SmartAlerts application is designed to efficiently detect and spotlight complex network scenarios that may impact carriers’ revenues, network security or customer services. The logical connection of disparate or unusual network events enables carriers to efficiently and proactively respond to customer-defined network or service degradation incidents. This sophisticated identification and correlation of network events results in increased efficiency; automated, early detection of security breaches; smoother service delivery for improved customer care and Quality of Service (QoS); and improved interconnection management.
The rules-based implementation of SmartAlerts builds on Inet’s industry-leading, real-time early detection and warning capabilities. It is fully integrated with, and expands the capabilities of Inet’s Network Security, QoS and Interconnect Management application suites.
“The SmartAlerts module greatly simplifies network security concerns and service delivery,” said Elie Akilian, Inet’s president and chief executive officer. “This new application is a direct result of our commitment to simplify carriers’ networks and business practices, as well as help them effectively manage their customers.”
