Securant Technologies Provides Native Security Infrastructure for BEA WebLogic 6.0 Applications
DALLAS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Feb. 27, 2001– Securant Technologies, the company that secures eBusiness, today announced here at BEA eWorld 2001 that the award winning ClearTrust SecureControl user access management system has been certified to seamlessly inter operate with and support the BEA WebLogic(R) 6.0 application server platform. The 100 percent JAVA-based ClearTrust SecureControl product is the industry’s only access management system that provides native integration for the BEA WebLogic Platform, via a plug-in module. This unique capability enables enterprises to centrally manage, from ClearTrust SecureControl, the security policies that govern user access permissions for all their BEA WebLogic applications – without writing any code. In addition, as new applications are developed and deployed they can be “snapped” into and immediately protected by ClearTrust SecureControl.
This native integration allows BEA WebLogic-based applications to tap ClearTrust SecureControl’s comprehensive application level security services including authentication, authorization, access control, single sign-on, delegated administration, threat detection, policy assessment, and auditing. By providing a single access management infrastructure for all applications and components built on BEA’s market-leading application servers, ClearTrust SecureControl provides faster and more secure deployment of revenue-generating eBusiness applications, while reducing administration costs.
“In the past, building a comprehensive security layer to protect custom applications deployed on the BEA WebLogic platform often required development work that slowed down project roll outs,” said Eric Olden, chief technology officer, Securant Technologies. “With our support for BEA WebLogic Server 6.0 and native plug-in module, ClearTrust SecureControl provides BEA customers with instant blanket security coverage that allows them to centrally control and automate user access to any BEA WebLogic Server-based application or component – without writing any code.”
ClearTrust SecureControl delivers a centralized, unified, and automated infrastructure for securing BEA WebLogic Server 6.0 applications including:
–Smart Rules-based authorization that allows customers to use natural language business rules to centralize, automatically assign and dynamically adjust access permissions based on a user’s profile (role, account balance, subscription level, etc.).
–Delegated administration, using Virtual Business Units, which makes it possible to distribute time-consuming user administration workloads on three levels: within a company (across departments, divisions, etc.); externally to Extranet partners and customers; and to individual users/subscribers via a self-service function.
–Fraud/threat detection that monitors user activity within an application and can take countermeasures to proactively prevent misuse and fraud.
The BEA-Securant Partnership
With this announcement, the two companies are extending their longstanding multi-level technology integration relationship. This partnership includes joint development activities that enable ClearTrust SecureControl to provide a single security infrastructure for managing user access across Java components including EJB, JSP, and Java Servlets, as well as applications built on the BEA application servers. In addition, Securant bundles BEA WebLogic Express(TM) and JDBC Drivers with the ClearTrust SecureControl product as part of an OEM agreement with BEA. Securant is also a member of the BEA Technology Alliance Program.
Availability
ClearTrust SecureControl 4.6 for BEA WebLogic Sever 6.0 will be available late March of 2001.
