RSA Keon Certificate Server Earns OPSEC Certification from Check Point Software Technologies
Commitment to Multi-Vendor Interoperability High on RSA Security’s Priority List
BEDFORD, Mass., Jan. 2 /PRNewswire/ — RSA Security Inc. (Nasdaq: RSAS), the most trusted name in e-security(TM), today announced that RSA Keon(R) Certificate Server 5.5 — RSA Security’s digital certificate management system designed to add trust to e-business applications — has been certified by Check Point Software Technologies’ (Nasdaq: CHKP) Open Platform for Security (OPSEC) Alliance. OPSEC certification testifies that RSA Security’s Keon Certificate Server is interoperable with Check Point’s Secure Virtual Network (SVN) architecture and a wide number of other security components available today. Through this certification, end-users can select the security solutions that best meet their requirements and be assured that interoperability and central policy definitions are guaranteed. The Keon Certificate Server 5.5 is the second RSA Security product to receive Check Point OPSEC certification – RSA Security’s ACE/Server(R) software was among the first OPSEC products to be certified in April 1997.
“As a charter member of OPSEC, RSA Security and Check Point have long shared a successful strategic partnership to help enable comprehensive and integrated security solutions,” said Bob Pritchard, vice president of corporate and partner development at RSA Security. “We are privileged to extend our involvement in the Check Point OPSEC Alliance by achieving certification with RSA Keon Certificate Server. This further demonstrates our commitment to interoperability, as well as our enthusiastic participation in programs that support this goal.”
“Trusted authentication is a key component of Check Point’s SVN architecture,” said Bradley Brown, director of business development, Check Point Software Technologies. “The integration of RSA Security’s Keon(R) Certificate Server with Check Point’s VPN-1(TM)/FireWall-1(R) enterprise security software helps provide comprehensive, trusted authentication for e-businesses. We are pleased to award OPSEC certification to yet another RSA Security product.”
RSA Keon Certificate Server is designed to provide certificate enrollment and revocation features for use with Check Point’s VPN-1 and FireWall-1 products. Using RSA Keon digital certificates, Check Point’s FireWall-1/SecuRemote software can be configured to authenticate clients in a secure virtual private network (VPN) environment.
