Getronics Selects Sybari’s Antigen to Protect Its Global Exchange 2000 Messaging Infrastructure
Getronics Selects Sybari’s Antigen to Protect Its Global Exchange 2000 Messaging Infrastructure; 30 Thousand Exchange 2000 Users Worldwide Protected by Antigen
E.NORTHPORT, N.Y.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Jan. 8, 2001–Sybari Software, Inc., the premier antivirus and security specialist for groupware solutions, today announced that it has signed a global agreement with Getronics to provide high-level antivirus protection and information security for its global messaging communications infrastructure. Getronics, headquartered in Amsterdam with U.S. headquarters in Billerica, MA, is a worldwide leader in providing information and communication technology solutions.
Under the agreement, Getronics’s 30,000 Microsoft Exchange users, spread across 40 countries worldwide, will be protected by Sybaris’ Antigen for Exchange, an award winning antivirus and information security solution for groupware. Antigen is specifically designed to meet the increase in information security needs raised by harmful viruses that spread through email.
“Messaging is critical to our business for customer contact and enterprise collaboration,” said Bruce Lyons, director, infrastructure & messaging at Getronics. “Antigen met the reliability requirements needed to protect our global Exchange environment. Sybari enabled us to institute an antivirus solution which complements and protects our global messaging platform.”
With more than 200 million messaging transactions taking place per year via its Exchange servers, Getronics needed a robust antivirus and security solution that would maintain the integrity of its network servers. Sybari delivered an innovative and technologically advanced virus detection methodology that reliably scans 100% of messages and objects written to the Exchange Information Store database in real-time, with minimal or no adverse impact on server performance. Sybari’s pre-emptive protection solution Antigen inspects messages for viruses before they reach users’ mailboxes or sensitive data, where viruses can propagate and inflict damage. Furthermore, Getronics required an antivirus solution that was Exchange 2000 ready. Antigen met this requirement, as it is the only shipping solution with Exchange 2000 support available on the market.
“We are honored to have been selected by Getronics, a world leading provider of IT solutions and services,” said Rocco Donnino, vice president of North American sales for Sybari Software Inc. “Getronics joins the growing number of companies who maximized their strategic defense against virus attacks by implementing Antigen, the leading preventive security solution for Exchange.”
