Cyberguard Corporation Delivers the Security Scoop in Singapore
Leading Network Security Executive To Speak at National University of Singapore
FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Feb. 15, 2001–With Internet security a serious global issue, Paul Henry of CyberGuard Corporation, the technology leader in network security, will divulge his security secrets at a National University of Singapore seminar on February 23 at 10:30 a.m. local time. Henry, managing director of Asian operations for CyberGuard, will be presenting “Hacking Exposed: The Hacking Tools of Script Kiddies” as part of the university’s “You are the TARGET” seminar on information security.
The security industry in Asia is one of the fastest growing in the world. According to IDC, the Internet security market in Asia will grow from $600 million this year to $1 billion in 2003. CyberGuard is committed to providing comprehensive support to companies and individuals worldwide in order to reduce their vulnerabilities and safeguard their networks from unauthorized access.
CyberGuard is an acknowledged technology leader in Asia’s network security market, with dozens of major customers in countries such as Singapore, Japan, Korea, Malaysia and Indonesia.
“Any 14-year-old with an Internet connection and a little spare time can freely download the tools to launch an untraceable automated attack that can bring down almost any major eBusiness,” said Henry. “The only way to protect yourself is to understand the risks associated with being part of the digital network. Education is a major component of our Asian operations and I have found the demand for security information to be great.”
The seminar aims to educate attendees about the critical issues and security threats present in the Web-enabled world so that they can take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and their networks. Henry’s interactive presentation, “Hacking Exposed: The Hacking Tools of Script Kiddies,” will detail the tools and methodologies employed by “Script Kiddies,” teenagers who download subversive hacking tools and use them to hack the Internet. The presentation will also explore the DDoS attacks last year against Internet giants such as eBay, Yahoo! and Amazon.
With more than 20 years of experience in the security industry, Henry has more than a dozen security certifications and is one of a select few worldwide to attain a CISSP (Certified Information Security Systems Professional) certification. Other certifications include MCP+I, MCSE and CCSA.
